Masks is the signature fundraising and community art event at the Museum of Art Fort Collins. Its primary purpose is to raise funds that will contribute substantially to the support of the museum’s exhibitions and educational programs by engaging the community in a unique, approachable, diverse and creative art experience. For twenty years, the Museum of Art Fort Collins, has hosted Masks, an extraordinary community art project. Over the past twenty years, 3,500 Masks have been created and over 2 million raised by this extraordinary fundraiser and community art project.
This is the museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year. We’re hoping to raise $75,000 from the event total with $41,000 coming from the online auction of 271 Masks.
In 2024, over 260 plus artists and community members applied their creative talents to creating 271 works of art that comprise the fundraising exhibition. Each year has been an exciting journey as the unadorned ceramic forms leave the museum returning as an amazing collection of creative and diverse masks in all mediums. The Masks for sale are created by your community from youngsters, to students, community members and artists. The Masks exhibition and online auction will end on Friday, June 7 at 9:00pmMT sharp!
A note on navigating the online auction catalog- for the best ease of navigating through the Masks, use your internet browser back button, not the back button in the catalog. Using your internet back function will mostly take you back to your place within the catalog to go to the next Mask.
